Robert Bosisio was born in Trodena, North Italy in 1963. After graduating from The Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, he stayed in places such as Berlin, New York, and London to pursue his art. Currently, he works in his hometown, Trodena, Italy. He has held solo exhibitions in a range of institutions including the Museum Art Center Hugo Voeten in Antwerpen (Belgium, 2014), and Museul de Arta – Art Museum Cluj-Napoca (Romania, 2010), as well as in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and the United States, and he is highly acclaimed worldwide. In 2011 he was awarded La Fenice Prize in Venice, and he exhibited his work in the Italian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale in the same year. In 2020 he was selected as one of the finalists of the BP Portrait Award 2020 (UK). Film director Wim Wenders, who has an extensive collection of Bosisio’s work, has long been a close friend and supporter of the artist.
