104GALERIE is holding a group show in the period between Friday July 29th and Saturday September 3rd 2022, featuring work by Teodora Axente, Robert Bosisio, and Donata Wenders.
This exhibition is the first opportunity for the work of Donata Wenders to be introduced at 104GALERIE. Along with her work, we will exhibit some new paintings by Robert Bosisio, an artist who has had a long-term friendship with Wenders, as well as some pieces by Romanian artist Teodora Axente.

PROFILE

Teodora Axente
Born in 1984 in Sibiu, Romania, Axente completed a PhD at the University of Art and Design of Cluj, Romania in 2004.
She currently lives and works in Cluj-Napoca. In 2011, she received the Essl Art Award (Vienna, Austria) and participated in a group exhibition at the Essl Museum. In 2015 she exhibited work in various museums, including Boulder Museum of contemporary Art (Colorado, USA), the Museum of Art, Cluj-Napoca (Romania), and the Art Center Hugo Voeten (Heretals, Belgium), where she also held a solo exhibition in May 2016. In 2017 she was awarded the 3rd Frissiras Award for European Painting (Athens, Greece), which she followed with solo exhibitions at the Museum of Art, Cluj-Napoca in 2018, and the
Frissiras Art Museum (Greece) in 2019, receiving international acclaim. She had her first exhibition in Japan at 104GALERIE in 2021.

Robert Bosisio
Robert Bosisio was born in Trodena, North Italy in 1963. After graduating from The Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, he stayed in places such as Berlin, New York, and London to pursue his art. Currently, he works in his hometown, Trodena, Italy. He has held solo exhibitions in a range of institutions including Museul de Arta – Art Museum Cluj-Napoca (Romania, 2021), Galerie Fravi (Domat/Ems, Switzerland, 2020), Gallery Martin Mertens (Germany, 2019), Galerie Doris Ghetta (Ortisei, Italy, 2018) as well as in Austria, Belgium, and the United States, and he is highly acclaimed worldwide. In 2011 he was awarded La Fenice Prize in Venice, and he exhibited his work in the Italian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale in the same year. In 2020 he was selected as
one of the finalists of the BP Portrait Award 2020 (UK).

Donata Wenders
Donata Wenders was born in 1965 in Berlin. Having studied film and theatre in Berlin and Stuttgart, she worked as an assistant photographer before she began her career as a photographic artist in 1995. Since then, she has worked with writers like Siri Hustvedt and Peter Handke, artist Reiko Ikemura, and fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto, creating numerous documentary pieces. She has worked as a stills photographer for the films directed by her husband, Wim Wenders, to create photographic records, and has also expressed moments she captured in communication with her subjects in her own artistic work.
Her major works include Pina (2012), Don’t Come Knocking (2005) and Buena Vista Social Club (2002), among others. The work of Donata Wenders has been exhibited in museums and galleries across Europe, including Germany and France, as well as in the US, Japan, and South Korea.
